NORD Holding and RBK take a stake in Delticom
On 8 September 2004 NORD Holding Unternehmensbeteiligungsgesellschaft, Hanover and the Regional Association for Equity Capital belonging to the Sparkasse Hanover signed the investment agreement together with the two Board members and founders of Delticom AG: Andreas Prüfer and Rainer Binder at the company premises in Brühl street in Hanover. Reason enough to celebrate the following day, once for the new business partners and once again for NORD Holding celebrating the 35 anniversary of the company's founding on 9 September 2004 at its headquarters in the Villa Venture in Hanover.
NORD Holding's core business includes the structuring and financing of company succession profiles, expansion stage funding for high end medium sized businesses and spin-offs. According to Rüdiger Thieke, a member of the NORD Holding management team: "It is particularly rewarding to be able to support such successful companies as Delticom AG". Currently NORD Holding has investments totalling 180 mio. Euro in just over 50 companies.
"International expansion and the development of our worldwide network will be at the core of future investments by Delticom. We shall be focussing on our core competences with the objective of playing a leading role in marketing tyres not only in Europe but also in other continents", thus Andreas Prüfer's comment on the agreement sealed. "We are now best equipped for a possible future IPO", according to Rainer Binder commenting on the new step taken towards the future. A further reason cited for concluding the new investment agreement is the impetus given to speeding up growth and to ensure a head start.
Currently the company is registering a continuously expanding customer base both nationally and internationally as well as a steady increase in sales, the most recent increase being a plus of 54% to 34 million Euro in the first half of 2004 (recording date 30.06.2004).
Meanwhile Delticom AG has increased its service partners and fitting outlets to a current total of 3.764 in Germany and Europe. These set the foundation for future customer base expansion. According to a recent survey carried out by the company more and more consumers are prepared to order their tyres directly from the Internet via Reifendirekt. Delticom is proud of its 500.000 customers in B2C business. This confidence-inspiring foundation creates a customer-friendly online shopping system defined by state-of-the-art technology and high security and, as a result, the company was once again awarded the s@fershopping certificate by the Technical Inspection Agency. This certificate confirms Reifendirekt's trustworthiness with regard to the quality, security and transparency of its Internet presence.
