Heizkurier Group acquires pellet pioneer Suter Group and positions itself as market leader for equipment-as-a-service of mobile heating solutions in the DACH region
Heizkurier Group is expanding its group portfolio with the Swiss Suter Group and is thus positioning itself as the market leader for equipment-as-a-service for mobile heating solutions in the DACH region. With the acquisition, NORD Holding is consistently implementing the strategy developed at the time of the Heizkurier acquisition with regard to growth and focus on sustainable technology. The joint group employs around 180 people at 17 locations in the DACH region and has the largest and most technologically advanced equipment pool for mobile heating applications. Both companies distinguish themselves to their customers through highest service quality and availability. The joint group benefits from considerable synergies from Suter's innovative pellet technology as well as Heizkurier Group's extensive market access in the DACH region. This enables an ideal positioning to benefit from the megatrend towards energetic renovation in the building sector. In addition, other relevant application areas exist in the fields of construction heating and drying, industrial heating, agriculture, emergencies and events. The existing management and the founders of Suter participate in the merger.
Suter Group is a pioneer in the field of green pellet technology and rents efficient and environmentally friendly hot air and hot water systems to its customers as a one-stop shop. Suter's modern rental system park includes more than 500 mobile pellet heaters with an output of 50 to 1,000 kW. Driven by sustainable trends such as increased efficiency requirements and climate neutrality in the building sector, the expansion of district heating and energy-efficient renovation in the building sector, both Heizkurier and Suter have experienced dynamic growth in recent years. Mobile heat is of essential importance in this context, as it ensures a seamless energy supply and thus enables compliance with the ambitious political goals ("bridging to green").
"The merger of Heizkurier and Suter offers very high synergy potential. Both companies are ideally positioned to serve the high demand for mobile heating solutions with a market-leading technology and service offering. We have been observing Suter's impressive development for some time and are now very much looking forward to the cooperation," says Maximilian Frey, Principal of NORD Holding.
Marc Pehlke and Stefan Heer, CEOs of the Heizkurier Group, add: "In addition to synergies in sales and procurement, the acquisition of the Suter Group in Switzerland gives Heizkurier access to another resilient end market on its way to becoming the European market leader. With the expanded product portfolio, we can serve our customers in an energy carrier-neutral and technology-open manner. This is a unique selling proposition in the mobile heat market environment."
Dominik Suter, co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Suter, adds: "The merger with the Heizkurier Group marks a strategically significant milestone for the Suter Group. As an innovator in the field of sustainable mobile heating solutions and producer of advanced mobile pellet heaters, we see this step as a consistent continuation of our vision. Thanks to Heizkurier's extensive distribution network, we are now in a prime position to rapidly establish our advanced technology in the European region."
The joint group aims at further internationalisation as well as the expansion of the mobile cooling business.
On the part of NORD Holding, the transaction was implemented by Philipp von Mitzlaff, Maximilian Frey, Marcel Rosengarten and Nicolas Eidenmüller.
Since 2007, Heizkurier has established itself as a leading rental and sales provider of mobile heating and cooling solutions. With the acquisition of HDS Energielösungen GmbH, which specialises in refrigeration solutions, in 2018 and the Austrian company energy4rent GmbH in 2020, the company's solution portfolio and regional coverage were successively expanded. To address the wholesale segment, the Energiebringer brand was also created in 2021.
The company's rental equipment fleet currently compromises more than 1,000 mobile heating and cooling centres with outputs ranging from 10 kW to 5,000 kW. All Heizkurier units are "Made in Germany" or “Designed in Germany” and are manufactured on the basis of many years of experience and with the highest quality requirements. The offer is supplemented by services such as consulting, planning, delivery, technical emergency service and device return.
A special field of application is the bridging of heating during the energetic renovation of buildings, where Heizkurier can make a significant contribution to saving CO2 emissions in the building sector with their solutions.
Other important areas of application include construction heating and screed drying, bridging of emergencies, expansion and maintenance of district heating networks, industrial applications and events. With its intelligent solutions for construction heating, the company creates the opportunity for higher capacity utilization even in the cold months to counter the urgent problem of the shortage of skilled workers in Germany.
The group of companies employs over 120 people at its headquarters in Wachtberg and its 10 service locations in Germany and Austria.
