NORD Holding sells CDA Holding to Strategic Investor OEM from the USA
CDA GmbH is one of the largest independent manufacturers of optical storage media in Europe and has in recent years evolved to become the leading European replicator of chip-based storage devices in the automotive sector.
In addition, the CDA has successfully established itself in the market as a manufacturer of components with micro structures;a still new market segment with significant potential, especially in the application of 3D sensors for gesture control.
With around 200 employees, CDA has generated a turnover of about € 35 million in the current financial year, meaning that sales have increased by over 40% since the beginning of NORD Holding's involvement.
Optical Experts Manufacturing Inc. (OEM), headquartered in Charlotte / USA - also a manufacturer of optical data storage "complements CDA well. OEM is placing its trust in the innovativeness of CDA at its location in Suhl.We can see great potential for CDA's innovative products in the US market," said Raymond Zerrusen, CEO of OEM.
CDA directors Frank Hartwig and Dr. Nicolaus Hettler have until now been largely responsible for the current growth and will remain at the helm of the company with the new owner.
