NORD Holding celebrates its 40th anniversary

Founded in 1969 the company is one of the oldest private equity firms in Germany. "We are celebrating our company anniversary as a signal of continuity. In doing so we are not only looking back on the past but, despite the current difficult economic environment, looking forward with confidence to the future", stated Matthias Kues, Chairman of the Management Board, in Hanover today.
NORD Holding's core business includes:
- The structuring and financing of company succession profiles
- Expansion stage funding for high end medium sized businesses also as a silent partner
- The spin-off of medium sized business units from corporations
NORD Holding was founded 40 years ago as a 100% subsidiary of the Norddeutsche Landesbank. Today, the shareholder group has expanded to include savings banks, Landesbanken (state banks) and public insurance companies.
Currently NORD Holding has investments totaling approx. €250 mil. in 50 medium-sized companies.The company has a funding framework available of €150 mil at for new investments.
In 2000 NORD Holding issued its fund of funds. The company invests in other European private equity funds through three such funds. NORD Holding's fund of funds business encompasses an investment volume of approx. €500 mil. Investors include Landesbanken (state banks), savings banks, insurance companies and occupational pension fund investors.
More than 250 business leaders and representatives from public life are expected to attend the anniversary celebration. The guest speaker will be Dr. Frank Schirrmacher, joint editor of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
Later on in the evening local flavor will be added with the appearance of the stand-up comedian/satirist, Matthias Brodowy.
