NORD Holding acquires CDA Datenträger Albrechts GmbH
CDA Datenträger Albrechts GmbH is one of the largest independent manufacturers of optical storage media in Europe. The product range also includes duplicating data on memory cards and USB sticks. The company has also successfully established itself in the market as a manufacturer of components with microstructures. With a workforce of 190 employees CDA achieved turnover of € 25.6 mil. in reporting year 2010.
"Together with the CDA management we wish to consolidate existing products and to tap into existing production know-how for additional application areas in order to fuel business growth", stated Matthias Kues, NORD Holding CEO, today in Hanover. Kues envisions new application areas amongst others in medical products and micromechanics.
In contrast to the majority of other financial investors who manage only temporary funds, NORD Holding operates as a so-called"evergreen" without any time limitation. This gives the holding company the opportunity to develop without any external pressureand to tap its growth potential.
With almost 40 years' experience NORD Holding is one of the leading private equity companies serving the medium-sized sector. Its activities focus on the structure and funding of succession issues for middle market companies, spin-offs and expansion stage funding for medium-sized companies. Besides NORD/LB and the Bremer Landesbank shareholders in NORD Holding include a number of savings banks and public insurance companies.
The Erfurt-based bm|t beteiligungsmanagement thüringen gmbh is a subsidiary of the Thüringer Aufbaubank and is the management company for five investment funds totaling € 190 million.
Currently bm-t manages approx. 40 holdings in companies in Thuringia.
We are very pleased that with NORD Holding we have found a long-term investor who will continue to pursue CDA's strategic path at Suhl.
