First-time Investment for NORD Holding in Austria - LMF AG as joint investment with Invest Equity (Vienna)
LMF is one of the worldwide leading manufacturers of high pressure compressor units for air, natural gas and other technical and industrial gases. Typical applications include oil and gas exploration, the chemical industry and gas fuel stations. LMF systems are used for example to generate shock waves in the ocean using compressed air as an aid to locating oil and gas deposits beneath the sea bed.
Founded in 1850 the company is headquartered in Leobersdorf near Vienna where it has a workforce of 200 and an annual turnover of € 35 mil. One of the most famous employees in the company's long history is Rudolf Diesel, who in 1897 presented the now universally widespread diesel engine for the first time to the public. From 1946 to 1998 LMF belonged to Deutsche Babcock AG.
In future NORD Holding and Invest Equity intend to cooperate more often on joint projects. "Invest Equity values NORD Holding's German network. NORD Holding appreciates the considerable potential in Austria and with its new cooperation partner possesses a strategic option for Eastern Europe,." stated a speaker from the Hanover-based private equity company. The partnership was also highlighted recently following an investment by NORD KB Beteiligungsgesellschaft in Invest Equity's new fund. The NORD KB is a so-called fund of funds that invests in other private equity funds and is managed by NORD Holding.
