2021 - A cleantech year: NORD Holding's Dr. Födisch Umweltmesstechnik AG accelerates its growth trajectory with the acquisition of TESTA GmbH - further acquisitions will follow
Following last year's acquisition of a majority stake in Dr. Födisch Umweltmesstechnik AG, our portfolio company further strengthened its position as a technology holding group. With the acquisition of TESTA GmbH, headquartered in Munich, a further step was taken towards becoming a fully comprehensive European process and environmental measurement technology specialist.
The acquisition enables the company to tap into new customer segments and industries while expanding its existing product portfolio to flame ionization detectors (FID). FIDs are used for emission measurement in combustion plants, for process analysis in the oil and gas industry as well as in the chemical industry.
Testa's unique selling point is that it is currently the only supplier with QAL-1 certification for mobile devices in the market. These mobile FID measuring devices for approved measuring stations offer an excellent competitive advantage and growth opportunities.
Dr. Holger Födisch, the CEO of Dr. Födisch Umweltmesstechnik AG, identifies synergy potentials in the emission measurement segment and promising new sales opportunities in the field of process measurement. In addition to technological know-how, recurring service is an essential component of both companies' service portfolio.
For several years, there has been an ongoing and cooperative business relationship between the two companies, which has now led to the takeover in the context of a succession plan. The previous managing director, Dr. Bernard Ulrich, will continue to provide his expertise for a transition and integration period.
Under the roof of Dr. Födisch Umweltmesstechnik AG, a group of technology providers with a strong focus on environmental measurement and automation technology is expanding. The acquisition of Testa is therefore a further important building block to realize the planned organic and inorganic growth ambitions. Further strategic acquisitions in the fields of environmental, process and emission measurement technology will follow in the next few years.
